Mary-Ann Jack-Bleach originally from Cape Town, South Africa and now
living in London,Ontario has been carving for 28 years. An award-winning
carver, her work is in private collections in South Africa, England, the
United States and Canada. She was the featured guest artist for six
months during 2005 at the Windsor Wood Carving Museum. Since the 1990s
Mary-Ann has been kept busy writing articles for woodcarving magazines
in the United States and Canada, carving commissions, judging carving
shows and teaching from her home-based studio as well at different
venues throughout Ontario. An Occupational Therapist by profession,
Mary-Ann underwent surgey in 2005 for the removal of a Brain Tumour and
is extremely grateful that she regained her ability to carve again, even
if it is at a slower pace. She has a woodcarving business entitled "Anything but Birds" as well as a wicked sense of humour.
